Big Fitz Da Poet was born David Jerome Fitzpatrick Jan.28 1981 in Toledo, Oh. His early upbringing was difficult due to his mother being strung out on drugs, and his fathers absence. At age 8 his father entered into his life to keep the state from placing him and his brother under foster care. At age 11 the family packed up and moved to Gadsden, Al. While in high school Big Fitz Da Poet started writing rhymes, short stories, and poems about his childhood. His first time performing was in 2002 at a college open mic while attending Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Al.. After taking a couple years off in 2005 he released his first cd Flowetry-N-Motion to rave reviews. In 2008 he released another cd The Soul Of A Man and in 2012 he released the album Critically Acclaimed. Big Fitz Da Poet has performed, hosted, and promoted events all over the southeast. He has opened up for Rich Homie Quan, Doe B, Yelawolf, Georgia Me, V.I.C.,T Rone, Big Rube, Red Storm, Huggy Bear, Sunni Patterson and a host of other great poets. He has won 3 poetry slams and has been booking his self the past 5 years. Big Fitz Da Poet appeared on the ION Television Network morning show The Alabama Way 4 times last year. His poems and songs are controversial and soul stirring, If I could use only three words to describe Big Fitz Da Poet it would be innovative, dedicated, and hard working.
